The key research topics of the faculty members (FMs) primarily focus on the role of the host response in opportunistic infections. Prof. Katja Kotsch has left the faculty for a professorship in Berlin during the summer of 2016. Seven of the eight members work at the Medical University of Innsbruck, one, Prof. Grubeck-Loebenstein, is heading the Institute for Biomedical Aging Research at the University of Innsbruck. Five FMs are medical doctors according to their initial training, although all have obtained a PhD and/or a habilitation thereafter, one of these also work at bedside and three mainly preclinically. The remaining three FMs hold a PhD with a background in natural sciences.
Affiliate Faculty Members cooperate closely with the working groups of the HOROS Faculty Members. Furthermore they are teaching within the Ring-lectures as well as in practical courses of the HOROS programme. Some of their students (HOROS affiliate students) had to undergo the same selection criteria as the HOROS students and were selected in the process of the HOROS hearings.
Katja Kotsch left the HOROS faculty in 2016 to take up a professorship at
the Charité in Berlin.
If you have any questions about the programme, lectures, open postitions, applications, visa, etc. do not hesitate to contact the Administrator. He will try to answer all outstanding issues and helps new students to manage all necessary administrative tasks.
